Harmony Community Cares (HCC)

cultivates hope through the following programs:

harmony food pantry

Food insecurity is a reality that affects many people throughout Chicago and particularly in North Lawndale. The HCC Food Pantry has been providing access to food in the community since 2006. Serving close to 200 families per week, the HCC Food Pantry is committed to providing healthy food, diapers and Senior Home Delivery and information about leading healthy lifestyles. We collaborate with The Greater Chicago Food Depository, I Am Able, West Side United, Mt. Sinai Hospital and other organizations serving North Lawndale.

academic enrichment

Through Academic Enrichment, children find sustenance for their passions, interests and social-emotional development. But the equity gap in academic enrichment has only become since the pandemic. HCC’s In-person & Online Tutoring and Community Arts programs, plus our Intensive Summer Reading Clinic, are designed to narrow that gap in North Lawndale by developing meaningful relationships with students, engaging them in learning, and boosting their confidence and overall academic success.

“I have the audacity to believe that people everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for the minds and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits.”
